2011 New Honda Vario Series.PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) launched the New Honda Vario Series with a new look that makes it look more elegant, sporty and futuristic.
Two-wheeled vehicle market this year showed an increasing growth charts. During the first seven months of this year, total sales of motorcycles totaled 4.8 million units or approximately 11.4 percent growth compared with same period last year. In the same period, sales of Honda motorcycles grew 23.1 percent, or far exceeded the growth of the national motorcycle market with sales of 2.46 million, or 51.4 percent market share.
This type of motor scooter is one of the largest contributor to the surge in sales of Honda's growth in the first seven months of this year. Throughout January to July, sales of Honda motor scooter was recorded as 1,265,366 units or jumped about 55.1 percent compared with same period last year only 815 829 units.
With these figures, the contribution of the type of Honda motor scooter to sales also increased from only 40.8 percent in January-July 2010 to 51.4 percent this year. This achievement reinforces the predicate Honda scooter as the new king in this country with 53.4 percent market share.
In the scooter segment, one of Honda motorcycle models that many consumers demand is a Honda Vario Series. During January-July 2011, recorded sales of Honda Vario Series 493 006 units, up about 23.5 percent compared with same period last year only 399 233 units.
To maintain its existence as a pioneer scooter advance with hi-tech features, AHM Vario Series equip with the color and appearance of new striping. Vario CW with a new look with color-themed young and elegant striping.
Vario Vario Techno and CBS also had a refresher on the color and striping striping by using a more advanced themes and futuristic. Special Vario Techno, AHM add one color choices are green instead of blue to respond to consumer desires.
Honda Vario Series is equipped with engine capacity 110 cc liquid-cooled as well as some safety features that are only owned by Honda as a standard automatic side (side stand switch) in which the machine can not be turned on when in the down position and the brake lock function to prevent the motor jump when ignited.
With a variety of safety features that are not owned other brands, Honda Vario, which is Honda's first scooter in Indonesia extraordinary acclaim from the public. Total sales since its introduction in 2006 until today reached 2,322,982 units.
"We believe a refresher on the Honda Vario series will strengthen Honda's penetration in the segment AT," said Director of Marketing AHM Auddie Alexander Wiranata.
Honda Vario Series with new colors and striping will be marketed starting in mid September 2011. Honda Vario CW marketed at a price of Rp14, 4 million (on the road in Jakarta) with a choice of four colors: Black Velvet, Glam Red, White Posh, and Emerald Green.
